Patient priorities for research in chronic kidney disease [CKD]

Aim: The study aims to identify and explore health-related issues and concerns that patients consider to be important priorities for research in chronic kidney disease.

Description: Nine focus groups of 6-8 participants will be conducted with patients in the following stages of chronic kidney disease: predialysis (only Stage II – IV: patients who will progress to dialysis and transplant), dialysis (hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis) and transplant. The focus groups will ask patients about the health concerns and issues they face relating to their illness, care and support as a prelude to discussing topics they think should be priorities for research in chronic kidney disease. Participants will be accessed through Kidney Health Australia.
